Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and Singer (born in NYC on 22 November 1984) Her range of talents as an actor has garnered the world awe in everything from the dramas of the past, to thrillers and adventures. Johansson is the daughter of an architect and producer was brought up as a child in New York City. The twin brothers Hunter and she were her youngest siblings. At a very young age she discovered a love for performing and started auditioning commercials at the age of seven. To improve her skills, she attended classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan as well as she attended the Professional Children's School. In the age of eight, she starred together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her debut in film with Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson later appeared in Just Cause (1995), however, her breakthrough occurred in the form of Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters who run away. Her next film won the attention of critics for her character in the film as a teen who had a life-threatening accident The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition in the role of a sarcastic teen outcast Rebecca In Ghost World (2001).
