Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on November 22, 1985 New York City New York) has received acclaim for her acting abilities across genres such as historical dramas, thrillers and action films. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. Hunter was twin to their younger sisters. At the age of seven years old, her love of acting was growing. She began to audition for commercials. To enhance her acting skills, she joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan followed by at the Professional Children's School. At age eight she appeared alongside Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her debut in film as Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson subsequently appeared in Just Cause (1995) but her first breakthrough came with Manny & Lo (1996) a coming-of-age film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. She next earned critical acclaim for her role as a teenager who has suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention as cynical teen exiled Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001). Renee Felice Smith started her profession in the entertainment industry as a child. Smith was drawn to acting as a young child. With the support from her parents, Smith was offered her first role in the acting world when she was just six. She created a commercial with Dannon. Like other young actors in the same position, she honed her skills in the theatre. When she performed her stage debut in Wildflower she also worked in various projects throughout the USA. She was a student at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
