Chando is currently living in New York City. Chando attended Manhattan College prior to becoming an actor. Chando played the character Maddie Coleman in the TV soap opera As The World turns from 2005 to 2007 and for a couple of months from late 2009 onwards, she reprised the role. Alexandra began her professional career acting with the TV series House Blend in which she played Jenna Harper. As the World Turns, the CBS-recorded American soap opera, ran for three years. Alexandra was the character Maddie Coleman. Chando was a part of the American documentaries True life and Sherri in 2009; she was also a part of the Maddie Coleman character in As the World Turns. Chando was in two episodes of Glory Daze (an American comedy-drama series) in the role of Annabelle. She also has credits on Castle, Hindsight Dead People and Outcast.
